Tortuga Island is located off the coast of the Nicoya peninsula, it is only accessible by boat, but there are several tours that will bring you there from a variety of mainland cities. Tortuga Island is usually done as a day trip. You can spend the day relaxing at the beach, hiking one of the forest trails, go snorkeling or do a canopy tour.
