St Ives

St Ives
St Ives is a charming seaside town on the rugged north coast of Cornwall, UK. With its turquoise waters and golden sandy beaches, it's easy to see why this former fishing village has become one of Britain's most popular coastal destinations.
The town's winding cobblestone streets are lined with quaint cottages, boutique shops, and art galleries. Speaking of art, St Ives has a serious artistic heritage. The quality of light here has attracted painters for generations, leading to the establishment of Tate St Ives and the Barbara Hepworth Museum and Sculpture Garden.
St Ives has four main beaches: Porthmeor (popular with surfers), Porthgwidden (a sheltered cove), Harbour Beach (right in town), and Porthminster (great for families). The water here is amazingly clear, sometimes making you feel like you're somewhere in the Mediterranean rather than England.
The town's history as a fishing port is still evident in its working harbor where colorful boats bob in the water. And if you're a foodie, St Ives won't disappoint with its fresh seafood restaurants, traditional Cornish pasty shops, and the famous Moomaid of Zennor ice cream.
When the tide is low, you can walk across to the tiny island with the Chapel of St Nicholas on top – a beautiful spot for views back across the bay.
