FAQ

Itinerary Hub is a platform where you can find the perfect itinerary for your next trip, pick from one of the many itineraries created by other people or let our algorithm generate an itinerary based on your interests. It also let's you create your own itinieraries in our easy to use itinerary creator and share them so that other people can you use them for their travel plans.
The itinerary creator enables you to build your own itinerary. The first step is to give your itinerary a name, a description, to select which countries the itinerary will pass through and if it is a one-way trip (starting and finishing at different locations) or a round trip (starting and finishing at the same location). Now that the itinerary is created you can add steps. You can either do this by clicking on one of the locations on the map, or by clicking on the add step button. When selecting a location on the map the location of the step is automatically selected. Select the amount of recommended days to stay and the step number which is automatically set as the last step in the itinerary, but can be changed if you want to add a step on the middle or start of your itinerary. It is also possible to change the transportation type between locations. Automatically the transportation type is set to car/bus/boat and will show the route on the map if possible and otherwise a straight line. You can change the transporation type to either bus, boat or airplane. If airplane is selected this will show on the map as a curved line between locations. You have the option to select the amount of time the transport takes. Also you can select a location that will work as an intermediary travel location. This means that the location will not show as a step, this is usefull if you need two forms of transport. For example if you need to take the bus to a harbor and the a boat or if you need to take a bus to a city with an airport to take a flight from there. If you select the intermediary location, underneath you can change the transport type and time for the transporation from the intermediary location to the destination. If you your itinerary is done and you want to share it with the rest of the world click on publish, this will make the itinerary public so that everyone can find and use it.
When you create an itinerary, this itienrary will be an itinerary in progress and can be found only in your profile under itineraries in progress. When you are finished creating your itinerary you can publish your itinerary by pressing on the publish button to make it public to others. After publishing the itinerary it will show up in your published itienrary and in that countries and regions itinerary lists. People can find and like your published itineraries but not your itineraries in progress. You can not make changes to a published itinerary. However you can make changes to your itinerary in progress which is linked to the published itinerary. To change the published itinerary you can click on the publish changes button and the changes made in your itinerary in progress will visible in your published itinerary.
The itinerary generator works with an algorithm that creates the perfect itinerary just for you. It does so by asking you to fill in a form in which you specify some information about your trip and how important certain factors are for you during your trip. The algorithm uses among other things the ratings that other people have given locations on these factors. Generating the itinerary can take a while depending on the lenght of the trip and the amount of countries. A two week trip in one country will generally only take a few seconds, but a multi month trip accross the continent can take up to a few minutes.
